With the recent release of “Dawn FM”, The Weeknd has been on the minds and ears of music enthusiasts and fans like myself. The music icon and Toronto native has once again captivated listeners with his diverse, cinematic sounds woven together in his new project focused on psychedelic synths.
The unique cinematic experience that Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) brings to his music is something many are experiencing for the first time. However, the “Starboy” has been doing this for almost a decade.
24: The Fall
The Weeknd is fearless on this Echoes Of Silence track, letting us know that he “isn’t afraid of the fall.” The artist’s brave assertion of not being afraid of failure makes his verses about fame and money harsher. He insists on living in the moment, one of the best qualities of a singer dealing with the transience of the present moment.
Remember when every artist produced remixes of Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love”? Tesfaye threw his hat into the ring in 2014, and his voice matched the song like a glove. The R&B singer makes the song his own by leaning more towards the drunken aspect than the “love” part, proving that he can spin a web, even on a song that wasn’t originally his.
Is the weekend a good singer?
The Weeknd is one of the best singers in the world.
He has always been on top ever since he entered the music industry with his melodious voice and meaningful lyrics. He has dedicated his life to music and knows how to be a superstar. He keeps his life private and I think that shows how dedicated he is to music.
Does he use falsetto on the weekend? The Weeknd’s voice is naturally agile, allowing him to easily sing descending vocal lines, even if they can sound rough (“Secrets,” 3:56). … His lead vocals and his falsetto are quite bright, and even androgynous at times, which makes his voice all the more apparent.
‘What You Need’, ‘Loft Music’ and ‘The Morning’
In an interview with Vice Magazine, Jeremy Rose explains that he met The Weeknd by chance through mutual friends. he was playing the rhythm to “What You Need”. I had this thing for a few years and didn’t know what to do with it. Anyway, Abel was there and he started freestyling on top of that.
“I had an idea for a dark R&B project,” he says, and he felt The Weeknd was in a good position to participate.
