Muhurta about conceiving Options

PRE-NATAL SAMSKARAS*
Garbhadhana or Conception

This samskara ensures that conception, instead of being an accident, should be a pre-planned affair at an auspicious time with religious purity when a husband and wife meet for a definite object of getting good progeny. This samskara is said to do away with all impurities related to conception and reproductive system of female so as to ensure the birth of a lucky and healthy child.

Time: Conception should be done between 4 and 16 night from the day of menstruation.
Conception on even nights (i.e. 4, 6, 8, 12, 14, 16, nights) is said to give male child conception on odd nights from menstruation is said to give female child.
Conceptions on 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15 and 16 nights from the day of menstruation are specifically considered auspicious.

Nakshatras:
Best nakshatras for conception are:

• Uttarafalguni
• Uttarashada
• Uttarabhadrapad
• Rohini
• Mrigashira
• Anuradha
• Hasta
• Swati
• Shravana
• Dhanistha
• Shatbhisha

Nakshatras to be specifically avoided are:

• Poorvafalguni
• Poorvashada
• Poorvabhadra
• Bharani
• Magha
• Moola
• Jyestha
• Ardra
• Ashlesha
• Revati
• Krittika.

Other nakshatras are medium.

Tithis:

• 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 13 tithis are good
• 4, 9, 14, 6, 8, 11 tithis, Amavashya and poornima are avoided. One should also avoid Bhadra.

Days:

• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday are good
• Monday is medium.

Lagna: Conception lagna should have benefics in Kendras and Trikonas (1/4/7/10/5/9 houses) and malefics in 3/6/11 houses. Lagna should be aspected by male planets (Sun Mars and Jupiter) and Moon should be placed in odd navamsha.

To be avoided: Avoid Vyatipaat, Vaidhriti, first half of Parigha yogas. Avoid Bhadra, malefic days, Tithi, Nakshatra and Lagna Gandanthas. Ending one ghati (24 minutes) of poorna tithis (5/10/ 15/30 tithis) and starting one ghati (24 minutes) of Nanda tithis (1/ 6/11 tithis) are called tithi gandanthas. Ending half ghati (12 minutes) of 4/8/12 lagnas and starting half ghati (12 minutes) of 1/5/9 lagnas are called lagna gandanthas. Ending two ghatis (48 minutes) of Jyestha, Revati and Ashlesha and starting two ghatis (48 minutes) of Ashwini, Magha and Moola are called nakshatra gandanthas. Avoid solar and lunar eclipse days, day time, Janma and Vadha Тага (i.e. 1st, 10th, 19th, 7th, 16th and 25th nakshatras from Janma nakshatra) of both male and female. Birth day of female, movable signs as lagnas and lagnas occupied by malefics should be avoided.

Chandra and/or Таrа bala: Proper Chandra arid Тага shuddhi for both male and female should be done.

Nisheka or first coitus should be done on benefic days, benefic tithis, in Rohini, Mrigshira, Pushya, Hasta, Uttarabhadrapad and Revati Nakshatras avoiding first three hours of night in cheerful mood and friendly disposition.

To find the auspicious conceiving periods with Jyotish Master

1. Run JM
2. Click Preferences
3. Select Muhurta tab
4. Set your place of residence
5. Set a start date. Since muhurta is a monthly report, only month number matters, both day and time -- don't.
6. Save the preferences by clicking Accept button
7. Select *Muhurta item in main menu
8. Select Prenatal ceremonies in muhurta group menu
9. Select Conceiving in event type menu

Find the days of week in bold font that have as many as possible periods in auspicious column and no bad periods in avoid column.
These are the best periods for baby conception.
For example, on the above screenshot they are August 2,3 and 31, 2012.
